Social media for Corpus Christi fishing charters and marine services

For captains, guides, boat shops, and marine service owners who would rather be on the water than on their phone.

Founding offer: Growth plan $250/mo (normally $350), $99 setup waived, rate locked 6 months. For my first 3 clients, in exchange for 2 introductions to other local owners and permission to show your posts in my portfolio. See the offer.

A lot of charter trips seem to get booked by visitors planning from out of town, and many of them look at Facebook, Instagram, and Google before they call. Boat owners looking for repairs, detailing, or storage often do the same. A steady page with recent photos and clear booking info can help them pick you. You don't need drone footage. You need real catches, real boats, and easy ways to reach you.

1. Get the basics right first

  • Google Business Profile: where you launch or where the shop is, hours, phone, and recent photos of the boat or the yard. Keep it current when your dock or season changes.
  • Make booking clear. Trip lengths, how many people fit, what's included (bait, tackle, cleaning), and what guests should bring. Fewer questions, more bookings.
  • Licenses and rules: mention only the licenses, credentials, and insurance you actually hold, and check current Texas Parks and Wildlife and Coast Guard guidance before posting about license, bag, or size rules.
  • Reply to reviews kindly and briefly. Never offer discounts or free trips in exchange for reviews; that's against Google's rules.

2. Photos that sell the trip

  • Happy guests with their catch (with their OK) tend to do better than fish on a deck alone.
  • Show the boat and the gear: clean deck, shade, safety gear on board. Families notice these things.
  • Follow the rules on camera too. Avoid posting fish that look under or over the legal size, and handle catch-and-release fish carefully in photos.
  • Marine shops: before-and-after shots of a hull, an engine bay, or a trailer repair explain your work fast.
  • Use your own photos. Don't post other captains' catches or stock images as your own.

3. What to post

  • Recent trip reports: a short, honest note on how the day went. Skip exact spots if you'd rather keep them.
  • Open dates: "Two spots open Saturday morning" posts can help fill last-minute gaps.
  • What to expect: what to wear, sunscreen, motion-sickness tips, how long the run out takes.
  • Weather calls: say plainly when you're rescheduling for wind or storms. Safety-first posts build trust.
  • Maintenance reminders (marine shops): flushing engines after saltwater runs, checking trailer bearings and lights before a trip.

4. Coastal Bend seasons

Demand tends to follow the weather, school calendars, and tournaments. Post a few weeks ahead:

  • Spring break and summer: families and visitors plan early, so post open dates and trip options well ahead.
  • Fall and winter: some anglers prefer cooler months. Post what's biting in plain, hedged words ("we've been seeing..."), not promises.
  • Hurricane season (June 1 – November 30): share how you handle cancellations and point people to official National Weather Service and county sources for storm info.
  • Local tournaments and events: check the official event pages for dates before you post about them.

5. A routine that fits life on the water

  • Snap a few photos on every trip or job. By the end of the week you'll have plenty.
  • Post three times a week: one trip or job photo, one tip, one open-dates or booking post.
  • Mention where you run from (Padre Island, Flour Bluff, Port Aransas, Rockport, the Laguna Madre) so people know you're nearby.
  • Answer messages fast. "Do you have anything this weekend?" is a booking.
  • Don't promise catches or limits. Fishing varies, and honest wording protects your reputation.

6. When to get help

If you're out before sunrise and cleaning fish after, posting is the last thing on the list. With Padre Post Co., you text me photos from the boat or the shop, I write and schedule the posts, and you approve everything before it goes live. I'm based in Flour Bluff and focus on Corpus Christi and Coastal Bend businesses.
